The World Within

The last light slips between the trees.

Deep within the woodland, the air grows still. A trace of saffron drifts through the gathering darkness, its golden warmth caught against the sharp, herbal edge of thyme. Beneath it, raspberry offers a fleeting softness, like the final colour of dusk against darkened timber.
