The World Within

The last light of autumn slips beyond the trees.

Inside, an old stone hearth holds the warmth of the day. Its surface is darkened by years of firelight, the surrounding timber worn smooth by time.

A stirring of pimento fills the air, fiery and fragrant, softened by the sweetness of dried fruit. Tobacco leaves hang amongst the rafters, their earthy scent mingling with the warmth rising from below.
